In 2015, the consortium of Podlaska Regional Development Foundation and DAS.AM NGO responded to a call by the EU Delegation to increase capacities of CSOs in Armenia as independent development actors, by making them more competent, more responsive to citizens’ needs, and more proactively supporting country’s development through practical, project based approaches.
The project “STRONG Civil Society Organisations for Stronger Armenia” is aimed at increasing the capacities of civil society organisations (CSOs) in Armenia as independent development actors to make them more competent, more responsive to citizens’ needs, and proactively supporting the country’s development through practical, project-based approaches.
The project is implemented by the Consortium of Podlaska Regional Development Foundation (Podlaska Fundacja Rozwoju Regionalnego) and DAS.AM.
The project was launched on 1 October 2015. The implementation period of the project is 3 years.
The target groups of the project are CSOs based in Yerevan and marzes (regions of Armenia) and their client groups, the private sector, state institutions, and different segments of society. This Project is co-funded by European Union.
The project is focused on three specific objectives:
Increasing capacities of CSOs in applying for and implementing EU projects. This is the “Learning by Doing” package which is an advanced version of “Building Internal Capacity” and “Building External Capacity” modules focused on project management. This component will be delivered through training modules, coaching, individual and/or institutional advice, round tables and similar events.
The results corresponding to the project’s specific objectives are the following:
Result 1: Building Internal Capacities: strengthened internal organisational capacities of CSOs
90 CSOs (225 persons) with significantly increased internal capacities (skills, organisational changes implemented)
Result 2: Building External Capacities: empowered CSOs through strong networks and favourable administrative enviroment
45 CSOs (135 persons) with significantly increased external capacities (personnel skills, organisational changes, networking benefits)
Result 3: Learning by Doing: CSOs capable to apply/ implement/manage EU projects
Practical capacities in EU projects management built in 17-25 CSOs (45-60 persons), and results of 17-25 granted projects in CSOs client groups (at least 300 persons supported)
