Learning by Doing

“Learning by Doing” package of the project is an advanced version of “Building internal capacity” and “Building external capacity” components focused on project management. This package is aimed at increasing capacities of CSOs in applying for and implementing EU projects.

Overview

“Learning by Doing” package of the project is an advanced version of “Building internal capacity” and “Building external capacity” components focused on project management. The package includes training sessions, coaching and individual/institutional advice, and round tables. Training sessions target 45-60 CSOs and are designed for both leaders and staff of the CSOs. The beneficiaries will participate in EU project management (Initiation stage/Implementation stage) training programme which was identified as the second priority of CSOs needs based on the Capacity Building Needs Assessment of Civil Society Organisations in Armenia.

In addition, round tables, discussion forums, civic dialogue meetings will be organised to support the trainings and the implementation of sub-granted projects to give a floor for knowledge transfer and thematic discussions. Ongoing support will be also available in terms of coaching, individual/institutional advice to 17-25 CSOs. Assistance will be provided on continued and ad-hoc basis in close connection with identified risks, capacity gaps and requests by the beneficiary CSOs.

Trainings

“Learning by Doing” Package offers two training programmes in EU Project Management: Initiation stage and Implementation stage.

EU Project Management (Initiation stage)

This capacity building programme is dedicated to develop practical skills in initial stages of applying for EU projects. The main elements of the programme are theory and practice of EU project management, writing project proposals, PRAG procedures, EU funding channels and instruments, specifics of EU project management, programming, planning and managing a project, building a consortium, financial management of the project, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, EU visibility guidelines, and project implementation. It is planned to have a 2-day long training programme in Yerevan and marzes.

EU Project Management (Implementation stage)

This capacity building programme is dedicated to develop practical skills in terms of the implementation stage of EU-funded projects. It will tackle the following topics: financial management of the project, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, EU visibility guidelines, and overall project implementation. It is planned to have a 2-day long training programme in Yerevan and marzes.

Round tables

The objective of round tables and similar events (CSOs discussion forums, civic dialogue meetings, etc.) is to support the trainings and the implementation of sub-granted projects. The general topic of the round table discussions will be the design and implementation of EU-funded projects. It is planned to deliver round tables and similar events for about 3 groups of 20-25 persons.

Sub-Grants

Out of 45-60 CSOs participating in the “Learning by Doing” Work Package 17-25 CSOs will be selected to implement the sub-granted projects. The projects should be in line with EU rules and regulations, as well as the action’s requirements.
